Online, in-person and archival research, clearance and writing for an upcoming documentary on indie band Brainiac by filmmaker Eric Mahoney. Brainiac was opening for Beck and being courted by major labels when singer/songwriter Tim Taylor was killed in an auto accident. Interviewees include Steve Albini, Wayne Coyne of the Flaming Lips, Buzz Osbourne, Cedric Bixler, David Yow, Eli Janney and Fred Armisen.

“Vanilla Ice Goes Amish” – JUMA Entertainment for HGTV/DIY

“Vanilla Ice Goes Amish” is an extension of the star’s #1 home renovation reality show on HGTV/DIY. My work included research, logging dialogue and shots, and working with our field producer to track story points during the shoots.

Public Radio International’s Brain Brew: Wrote scripts and promotional spots, and handled research and booking for a Public Radio International (P.R.I.) program broadcast in 25 U.S. markets. Also, editing and research for North Pole Tenderfoot by Doug Hall. Found never-published images and documents related to Peary’s life and expeditions. Performed research at National Geographic, The Library of Congress, The National Archives, The Explorer’s Club and Ohio State University’s Byrd Polar Archives.

I worked with a camera op, editor, doctors, nurses, marketing and communications and other staff to produce marketing and recruiting videos for the medical center and international healthcare conferences.

Garnered video Award of Excellence from Cincinnati-Dayton chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators for “Dr. Steve’s Patient Safety Video Journal.” Pioneered use of intranet video via brief, guerilla-style videos on quality and safety from the hospital’s Chief Patient Safety Officer. Writing projects included general features, blog entries and in-depth medical communications.
